Nate Thriving at Gilbertsville Farmhouse

Today, we are highlighting another Employment Services success story. Nate has been working at Gilbertsville Farmhouse & NY Goat Yoga for two years and has achieved goals, learned new skills, and met great friends in his time there. Nate’s primary responsibilities are to care for the goats, guide them during goat yoga sessions, and travel with Vanessa, one of the goat yoga instructors, to local colleges and events across New York State to share the stress-relieving qualities of spending time with goats.

Sharon Boustani, co-owner of Gilbertsville Farmhouse, shared that it has been “a pleasure to watch Nate grow and become a part of our work family. He is beloved and integrated deeply with the team, and we love his sense of humor and creativity.” Nate works alongside Haywood Edwards, an employment specialist at Springbrook who has supported Nate through every step of his employment journey. Haywood goes above and beyond to support Nate with anything he needs; with effective communication, Haywood connects Nate with the necessary resources whenever he expresses a struggle or encounters an obstacle. Nate earned his driver’s permit a year ago and has been learning to drive the farm tractor, one of his favorite parts of the job. We cannot wait to see all of the fantastic accomplishments in Nate’s future, and we had such a blast visiting Gilbertsville Farmhouse!
