Congratulations, Amanda Travis, on her 10-year milestone at Springbrook! Amanda, a dedicated Day Hab Assistant at Springbrook’s Capstone Day Habilitation Program, looks back on her 10-year milestone with gratitude and pride. Amanda reflects on how her time at Springbrook has shaped her into a more attentive and empathetic listener, saying, “I have learned to be a better active listener, and I watch body language and other non-verbal cues in my everyday life, not just at work.”

Her heartfelt advice for new Springbrook employees is simple yet powerful: “The people we support need our undivided attention, so we need to focus on them to the best of our ability.”

When the Springbrook Training & Education Program (STEP) was introduced, Amanda jumped aboard, eager to continue her education despite financial and time constraints. Through the STEP program, she can earn college credits from SUNY Oneonta, tuition-free, while also being paid to attend classes. “I have learned a lot in the three classes so far, and for the first time in my life, I have straight A’s!” she proudly shares.

With over 10 years of experience working with individuals with disabilities, Amanda plans to continue her education and eventually work in therapy. Thank you, Amanda, for your dedication and passion! Here’s to many more years of making a difference at Springbrook!
