We have an advocacy update on this #WellnessWednesday: New York Gov. Kathy Hochul signed a bill to create the Office of the Chief Disability Officer to advocate for people with disabilities. Kimberly T. Hill was appointed as the state’s first chief disability officer. The office will represent the many interests of the Disability Community in the New York State government by reviewing future proposed legislation and regulations to determine their effect on those with disabilities. The bill will go into effect April 1.
