Today marks the first day of Direct Support Professional (DSP) Appreciation Week, where we will be celebrating the direct support professionals, teaching assistants (TAs), classroom aides (CAs), day habilitation, and shared day habilitation staff who support people with developmental disabilities in nearly all of Springbrook’s programs. To kick off the week, Springbrook Director of Community Homes Stephanie Davy shared a message for all the DSPs at Springbrook.

“Direct Support Professional Appreciation Week is celebrated nationwide to recognize the selfless and inspiring work of direct support professionals like you. DSPs provide 24-hour acute care to people who cannot live on their own and support them in many facets of their lives, and this work is not easy. To DSPs, I say, you are heroes, dedicated caretakers who have given so much of yourselves to others. You deserve to be showered with gratitude for the care and support you bring with you to work every day! YOU make a difference in each person’s life in the Community Homes department, and for that, I thank you!”
