A group of employee volunteers, called the HELP Committee, is funded through The Springbrook Foundation and exists to provide financial assistance to applicants in need. Funding is primarily awarded to individuals with emerging health and safety needs, but requests concerning individual activities, equipment, and holiday gifts are also considered.

Recently, the HELP Committee secured a bicycle for a teenage girl that has been served by Southern Tier Connect since 2018. The bicycle was needed to attend a camp to learn to ride on two wheels. She has enjoyed using the bike and can ride almost independently now and hopes to be completely independent soon.

Her mother said, of the HELP Committee gift: “thank you so much for allowing her to have a nice bike we wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford.”
