When asked what she strives to bring to Springbrook with her time and dedication, Brenda Lebo shares, “To pay staff as accurately and timely as possible so that they can fulfill the mission of Springbrook!” Brenda, the current payroll manager for Springbrook, has worked in the finance department for over 20 years. Starting in accounts payable in 2002, Brenda, with her dedication and fun-loving personality has ensured that the Springbrook staff get paid on time for over two decades.

Although she has spent the last 20 years in the Oneonta area, Brenda has not always lived in New York State. At 15, Brenda moved from Florida to Alaska, then to a remote village on the Yukon River that could only be reached by boat or plane. When asked what was one of the wildest things she has ever done, Brenda shares, “While in Alaska, I played basketball in high school. Being in a remote village we traveled by small prop planes to other schools for games. Basketball season is during the winter – to travel, full winter gear and sleeping bag were required as we slept in school classrooms as the trip was typically an overnight stay.” Brenda eventually found her way to Oneonta, New York, where she applied to work in accounts payable for the Springbrook finance department. After 7 years in accounts payable, Brenda accepted the payroll manager position in 2009, where she works today.

Brenda was hired into a temporary position at a time when the same person processed accounts payable and payroll for Springbrook. As soon as the opportunity to transition to payroll full-time arose, Brenda knew it was an area she wanted to further explore and develop. Spending the last 13 years in payroll, Brenda has enjoyed many aspects of working for Springbrook. Brenda shares, “The diversity of my responsibilities [is one of my favorite things about Springbrook]. I am challenged on a daily basis-allowing me to help, learn from and teach others and grow within myself.” Brenda also enjoys the appreciation and support she receives from her team, supervisors, and from the organization as a whole.

When asked what is the coolest thing she is working on right now, she said: My husband and I are remodeling our kitchen.” We wish you luck on your kitchen renovation, Brenda! Thank you for your years of service, and congratulations on your Milestone achievement.
