It has been a few weeks since the Springbrook Training & Education Program (STEP) started classes, and students are excited to embark on their educational journeys. Amber Henriksen, a direct support professional (DSP) and STEP student, has always wanted to further her education and continue her career with Springbrook, so the STEP program was the perfect fit for her needs.

Amber shared the following goals for her STEP educational experience: “My primary goal is to use these classes to help me be a better DSP, and my secondary goal is to become a physical therapist.” The STEP program is tuition-free and is broken up into 15-week sessions, with classes twice a week. Scholars in the program receive paid release time from regular work responsibilities, and upon completion of the program, they will receive a 50-cent raise. Congratulations to all the STEP students for beginning your educational journey, and stay tuned for more updates on the program! To learn more about the STEP program, click the button below.
