On Wednesday, September 3rd, Springbrook hosted the first annual Community Homes Picnic at Fortin Park, bringing together families, staff, and the people we support for a day filled with sunshine, laughter, and connection!

Guests enjoyed live music from the FLAME band, delicious food catered by Big Al’s BBQ, fun yard games, face painting, temporary tattoos, and plenty of smiles and warm embraces. Two pavilions were filled with family and friends from Community Homes stretching from Oneonta to Binghamton, decorated with handmade welcome signs created just for the occasion.

Staff were celebrated with Springbrook mugs and fun swag, while everyone enjoyed games like ladder ball, Jenga, Connect4, and corn hole, along with coloring books for all ages.

Gordon Mumbulo, Director of Community Homes, shared:

“The turnout for our first annual Community Homes Picnic was great! We’re hoping to build it bigger and better for next year. Thank you to all of those involved in making this day possible!”

With a commitment to investing in the success and vibrancy of local communities, the Berkshire Bank Foundation generously provided a grant to support the event.

We are grateful to our staff, families, friends, and partners for their support, which makes it possible to create opportunities for family engagement, social connection, and so many more meaningful experiences.
