The School at Springbrook

The School at Springbrook

Positive Behavior Intervention Supports, or PBIS, is a framework for preventing, understanding, and responding to problem behavior by teaching and reinforcing positive behaviors across environments.  PBIS is built on evidence-based practice, positive culture/climate, and specific instruction.  It is an assessment-based intervention, which evolves as strategies are applied and evaluated.  PBIS is an integral part of behavior support in The School at Springbrook.

Our Mission is to provide a positive, safe, healthy, and nurturing environment by emphasizing, rewarding, and expanding upon the strengths of our students and staff members. We will provide this through the:

  1. Development of clearly defined and consistent student and staff expectations and accountabilities which reflect our theme of Be Safe, Be Kind, Be the best you can be

  2. Provision of educationally sound methods that foster character development, mutual respect, and the attainment and mastery of educational goals
  3. Use of a team directed approach guided by input from all stakeholders

Just some of the activities and accomplishments made:

-Introduction of the PBIS mascot, the school Bee

-School-wide PBIS training

-Program theme and School rules (Be Kind, Be Safe, Be Springbrook)

-Monthly PBIS Assemblies
