Springbrook Celebrates Grand Opening of Newest Community Services Location
Cortland, NY: On August 14, 2023, Springbrook will celebrate the grand opening of its newest Community Services location in Cortland. The celebration will begin at 3:30 p.m. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 29 Central Avenue in Cortland. U.S. Representative Marcus J. Molinaro will be speaking at the event. Molinaro has been a U.S. Representative for New York’s 19th congressional district since 2023.
Springbrook’s Community Services include programs such as Self-Direction, Housing Navigation, and Employment Services. The combination of services aims to support people with developmental disabilities in all areas of life. From preparing for job interviews to finding an accessible living space, these programs will offer a comprehensive approach to living well in the community. Director of Community Services at Springbrook, Kimberly Corbett, shared, “Having been a part of services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Cortland and surrounding counties for more than 20 years, I am thrilled to add value to the local service delivery system, collaborating with friends and partner agencies to improve the health outcomes and quality of life for the people we serve.”
In addition to Cortland, Springbrook’s Community Services division operates in Oneonta, Norwich, Binghamton, Johnson City, Syracuse, and Ithaca. Springbrook is proud of its diverse and comprehensive operations, including the Tom Golisano Center for Autism, GEMS Residential & Day School, Kids Unlimited Preschool, 27 community homes across New York State, and Integrated Supportive Housing opportunities. The organization is planning further developments in Oneonta, like The Ford on Main (www.thefordonmain.com), as well as Cortlandville Commons (https://springbrookny.org/our-programs/housing-navigation/), Binghamton, and Syracuse.
