Rob and Meg, both individuals who utilize employment services, have worked at Outback Steakhouse for eight years. They both love what they do, and it shows. They received the Employee of the Year award in their first year of working and are an excellent addition to the Outback Steakhouse team. They each work two days a week, and their joyful presence is missed when they are off. Most of their work occurs before the restaurant opens, when they prep the space for the day ahead. Their daily tasks include cleaning tables, setting up chairs, sweeping, dusting, refilling supply bottles, and ensuring the space looks tidy before the day begins. They also perform hosting duties like greeting customers and opening the door for them. Rob shared that one of his favorite aspects of the job is talking to regular customers.

Both Rob and Meg are working towards goals. Meg is building skills to create her own business and feels she has gained confidence since beginning at Outback. Rob’s goal is to move into a place of his own where he can live semi-independently. Meg and Rob have worked with Employment Specialist Mike since they started at Outback Steakhouse. “I enjoy building up the spirit of the people I work with,” said Mike, who is happy to see Rob and Meg thrive in their employment.
