Happy Earth Day! The celebration of Earth Day is a great reason to get outside and enjoy nature. The theme of Earth Day 2023 is “Invest in Our Planet,” and we would like to share one way that Springbrook is investing in the nature surrounding our campus. Here at Springbrook, students, residents, and employees have access to a nature trail that runs through the woods and open fields on the hill above Main Campus. Springbrook’s Trail is equipped with two picnic stations, provided by a generous grant from the J.M. McDonald Foundation so that hikers can take a break to relax or enjoy a meal while out on the trail. There are plans to expand the trail and its features through a New York State grant, providing more opportunities to learn about and engage with the surrounding nature. For now, the trail is only open to the Springbrook community, but eventually, we hope to expand it for public use. Stay tuned as the plans for the Springbrook Trail develop!
