The Springbrook Pooled Trust provides an effortless way to secure the needs and financial future of your loved one with I/DD. This type of trust allows an individual who receives an inheritance, a lump sum payment, or any other income a safe place to protect their assets while remaining fully eligible for governmental programs and benefits such as SSI and Medicaid. Anyone with an intellectual or developmental disability can open an account in the pooled trust, regardless of whether they receive services through Springbrook.

Setting up an account is easy and low-cost. The goal of the trust is to enhance the quality of life of each participant, and funds from the account can be used by your loved one for many of their wants and needs. The trust is unique in that, at the time of their death, the balance of their account will go to Springbrook to further support people with I/DD. A participant of the Springbrook Pooled Trust shared this with us: “The Springbrook Pooled Trust has been helpful because it provided a way for Tom to save money. He was able to use that money for various things, such as plane tickets, bicycles, a YMCA membership, and college tuition.”
