Michele Mohrien – 15 Year Milestone
Residential Manager – Otego
Michele Mohrien is celebrating her 15-Year Springbrook Milestone! Michele is currently a Residential Manager at the Otego Community Home. When she first started at Springbrook, she started working part-time as a Direct Support Professional at the West Oneonta Community Home while she was attending college. She also worked at Stone Quarry and as Acting Manager at Walnut Community Homes before becoming the manager at West Oneonta and later transferring to Otego.
Michele shares that Springbrook changed her perspective on work entirely. “I didn’t realize you could like coming to work. I always did my best at any job I have had, but until Springbrook, I wasn’t happy coming to work. It was a chore, something I had to do. I truly enjoy walking into Otego every day.” At Springbrook, Michele gets the respect and dignity she deserves and gets to make a difference in the lives of the people she supports every day.
Michele’s advice for new Springbrook employees is to take advantage of the many opportunities Springbrook provides. Earn college credits, become an RN, a Behavior Specialist, or something else you’d like. Never give up because some environments are better for different personality types, and at Springbrook, there are many different work environments to try out to see what one is the best fit for you. When we asked Michele if she had anything else to share, she said, “I would like to say thank you to my coworkers and the people who live at Otego. I could not have asked for a better team.”
