Day of Giving

FAQ

What is the Springbrook Day of Giving?

The Springbrook Day of Giving is an online fundraising event that will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, starting at noon, and ending on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at noon. Over these 24 hours, the Springbrook Foundation invites all Springbrook friends, families, and staff to return to Springbrook’s Day of Giving website and make an online donation. Gifts of all sizes will help the Springbrook Foundation to provide support to Springbrook and the people with intellectual and developmental disabilities that it supports.

How can I support Springbrook’s Day of Giving?

You can get involved in three main ways:

1. Make a financial donation on the Day of Giving. Unite with other generous supporters of Springbrook by donating.

2. Spread the word about Springbrook’s Day of Giving. Share your passion for helping others, and encourage your friends and family to give a gift to support the individuals and families supported by Springbrook supports. Download the social media toolkit here.

3. Sign up to become a Day of Giving Ambassador and receive a personalized link to share with family and friends on your favorite social media platform. You can register individually or as a team here. Prizes will be awarded to top Ambassadors!

How do I make a gift during Springbrook’s Day of Giving?

On Tuesday, March 25, 2025, come back to Springbrook’s Day of Giving website, click the “Make a Gift” button, and complete a brief donation form. Only online donations made through the Day of Giving website and donations made by phone will be counted toward the day’s totals. The giving period will only be open from noon on March 25th to noon on March 26th, so be sure to make your gift before it’s too late!

I can't afford to make a large gift. Will my donation really make a difference?

Yes! Collectively, smaller gifts quickly add up to multiply impact.

What will my donation fund?

You decide! Our donation form allows you to direct your support to one of the areas listed below. After making your donation, be sure to use our social media share buttons to let your network know you participated in Springbrook’s Day of Giving!

Gifts can be designated to one of the following areas:

-Kids Unlimited Preschool Playground and Activities

-Springbrook Programs (i.e. Special Olympics, Therapeutic Horseback Riding, the HELP Committee, and the Oneonta Campus Outdoor Trail)

-Community Engagement

-Springbrook Scholars

-Area of Greatest Need (this allows the Springbrook Foundation to select where your donation is needed most)

But I already gave this year, why should I give again?

We greatly appreciate your continued support! By making another gift you can increase the impact on an area of Springbrook that you are passionate about helping to create an even more meaningful change. Additionally, your gift will contribute toward unlocking challenge funds generously pledged by individual and corporate donors, multiplying the power of your contribution.

How do Challenges work?

Challenges are a great way to help the Springbrook Foundation receive additional funding during the Day of Giving. Several individual and corporate donors have pledged their support for a Day of Giving Challenge. If the criteria of a challenge are met, the individual or business associated with that challenge will make a gift to the Springbrook Foundation in the amount listed in the challenge. For example: the first person to make a gift on the Day of Giving will unlock $1,000 in challenge funds from Springbrook’s Finance Department.

If 75 people make their first gift to the Springbrook Foundation on the Day of Giving, the Springbrook Foundation Board of Directors will donate $5,000.

How do I add my support to a Challenge?

Challenge gifts inspire others to donate and are a key factor in making Springbrook’s Day of Giving a success. Were you planning to make a gift of $1,000 or more to Springbrook this year? Why not let us know and turn that into a Day of Giving Challenge? This will maximize your gift by motivating others to donate. How can I get reminders about the Day of Giving?

Update your contact information to make sure you receive the Day of Giving e-mail reminders.

Can my employer match the gift I make on the Springbrook’s Day of Giving?

Matching gift programs often vary by employer, both in eligibility and the matching amount, but they can double or even triple the impact of your gift. Please check with your employer to see if they offer a matching gift program.

Can I send a gift by mail or by phone?

Yes, you may make a gift via mail or phone. Gifts received in advance or on March 25, 2025, in the mail or by phone will be included in the total raised announced on March 26, 2025.

Is my gift tax-deductible?

Yes, all gifts to Springbrook’s Day of Giving are considered a donation to the Springbrook Foundation. Your gift will be acknowledged with a receipt for your tax records.

Why am I getting an error making my donation?

We’re sorry you’re having trouble making a gift. Here are a few tips:

-Please be sure to answer all questions asked on the giving form (e.g., where to designate your gift and which Community Home should receive credit for your support). Some of the information requested will help us determine winners for the various challenges throughout the day.

-Do not include dashes or parentheses in your phone number (correct format: 4123966000).

-Try donating using a different web browser or device, such as a phone, tablet, or computer.
