After a two-year hiatus, basketball and track seasons have begun again for the Springbrook Scorpions Special Olympics teams! The players are ready to get back on the court and in the field and we couldn’t be happier for them. The benefits of Special Olympics programs are great: players learn new skills, build self-esteem and camaraderie, as well as improve their physical and mental well-being.

Since its start, participation in the Springbrook’s Special Olympics has been free to all Scorpions thanks to funding provided by the Springbrook Foundation from grants, individual donors, and special funding requests. Some of the expenses these generous gifts help cover are:

  • Coaching stipends for up to 16 coaches
  • Sports equipment
  • Uniforms
  • Team travel expenses (team meals, tolls, gas)
  • Overnight stays for far away games/meets

Friends and family like you have supported this program for almost 30 years! If you would like to continue to help and contribute to its continued longevity, please consider making a gift to the Springbrook Scorpions Special Olympics today!
