With the increase of COVID cases in the Oneonta community over the past week, we are reminded how fortunate we all are to have ZERO reported cases with any residential adult or child, or any day student or pre-school child which we support.

We are, however, very aware that this most recent outbreak means that our strategy to reduce risk must once again be modified for the safety of the students at The School at Springbrook and Kids Unlimited Preschool. As such, the following decisions have been made in conjunction with relevant oversight agencies:

In an abundance of caution, and with the health and safety of our students and staff at the heart of our decisions, we have also decided to begin the School at Springbrook’s Day Program and Kids Unlimited Preschool Program with remote learning. This decision is in line with our regional BOCES and partnering school districts.

However, in accordance with Governor Cuomo’s order to maintain childcare for essential staff, the Kids Unlimited Daycare program will remain open for the benefit of our community and the many parents who have returned to (or never left) in-person work. Below are links to the email announcements sent to parents of students in these programs:

We will continue to monitor the outbreak closely and make decisions regarding in-person learning and our other temporary protocols based on infection rates and guidance from our local department of health and BOCES offices.
