Kevin Klumpp is this month’s featured artist at the Sidney Memorial Public Library. He resides with his mother in Wells Bridge and has been receiving services from Springbrook since 2002.
Kevin has always had an interest in visual arts, and through the encouragement of his mentor, Springbrook HCBS Coordinator Ed DeForest, he has gained even more confidence and pride in his work. He often finds inspiration early in the morning, and works on his drawings for several days, until he feels it is just right. He expresses himself through a variety of mediums but his favorite is colored pencils, with which he often creates visually stimulating geometric figures with vibrant colors and strong lines. Kevin has also recently discovered a love of photography. He enjoys the entire photography process, from capturing the image to choosing frames and mattes for his work.
The work displayed at the Sidney Memorial Public Library is Kevin’s first public exhibit. The library is located at 8 River Street, Sidney, NY. Kevin’s art is displayed in the Smart Community Room and can be viewed through the end of May, Monday – Thursday, 9:00 am – 8:30 pm, Fridays, 9:00 am – 6:00 pm, Saturdays, 9:30 am – 4:00 pm, and Sundays, 1:00 – 4:00 pm.
