How many organizations can boast more than 130 employees – roughly 1/8 of its staff – who have worked there for ten years or more? Springbrook can. Our employees are the backbone of the organization. Because they work so hard every day, each summer Springbrook tries to show just how grateful we are to have them as part of the Springbrook Family.
This year on a beautiful June day, the words of Natalie Merchant’s song, “Kind and Generous,” filled the ballroom of the Otesaga Resort Hotel in Cooperstown. “I want to thank you / For so many gifts / You gave with love and tenderness,” the words rang out as employees celebrating ten years or more of service gathered with family and friends for the 12th Annual Employee Recognition Luncheon. That Springbrook truly is a family was evident from the cheers that went up – and especially the standing ovations – as each milestone employee was called to the front to receive their award. Certainly there is no place like Springbrook, where the compassion our employees bring is evident not only in their care of our participants but also in their support of each other. Springbrook employees selflessly put their heart and soul into everything they do – and for that, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
Congratulations to Ralph Bennett (Education), Bryan Jacoby (On-Campus Residences), Jennifer Cox (Community Homes) and Claudia McLean (Day Hab), the 2010 Exceptional Direct Care Staff Award winners! Ralph, Bryan, Jennifer and Claudia were each honored at the Employee Recognition Luncheon for their extraordinary care of Springbrook’s participants. Whether it is coaching the Springbrook Scorpions basketball team, creating a Christmas extravaganza at a house or using personal time to accompany a resident on a trip, these four do it all.
