Springbrook to Hold 2nd Annual Charity Concert in Manhattan

Springbrook presents An Evening of Music at The Morgan Library & Museum in Manhattan on Wednesday, October 18, 2017. Festivities begin at 6:00 p.m. with cocktails in the Morgan Rotunda, followed by the concert at 7:00 p.m. and a dinner reception at 8:00 p.m. All proceeds from the evening will benefit Springbrook’s Family Engagement Center, which opened on July 20, 2017.

This year’s concert features performances of Syrinx by Debussy and “American” String Quartet Op. 96 by Dvorak. The event is once again organized by world-renowned musicians Carmit Zori and Robert Rinehart, whose son, Danny, is currently a Springbrook resident and graduate of Springbrook’s Tom Golisano Center for Autism. The concert is Zori’s and Rinehart’s way of “giving back” to the agency while raising awareness about its life-services for individuals and families living with autism and other developmental disabilities.

Joining Zori and Rinehart on stage will be violinist Daniel Phillips, co-founder of the Orion String Quartet of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center; flutist and Grammy nominee Tara Helen O’Connor and current member of the New Millenium Ensemble; and cellist Marcy Rosen, founding member of the Mendelssohn String Quartet and co-artistic director of the Eastern Shore Chamber Music Festival in Maryland.

“This wonderful collaboration focuses on music’s power to transform lives, mirroring Springbrook’s mission to support and enhance the lives of the hundreds of children, adults and families we serve,” explains Patricia Kennedy, CEO, Springbrook. “Guests at the concert will have the opportunity to hear many of these motivating stories and learn more about our services, while interacting with world-class musicians in a unique, intimate setting.”

Like last year’s fundraiser, proceeds from An Evening of Music, will help to enhance Springbrook’s Family Engagement Center. “Through the generosity of our attendees and donors, we’re hoping to surpass last year’s total and enable Springbrook’s Family Engagement Center to serve more families as they work to nurture their relationships,” Kennedy says. “Many thanks to Carmit, Robert and to all our musicians for sharing their extraordinary talent and volunteering their time to contribute to our mission in such a heartfelt way. We’re looking forward to a wonderful evening.”
