25 Years of Making the Difference

Each year, Springbrook hosts a special Milestone Employee Luncheon at the Otesaga Hotel in Cooperstown in recognition of employees who have devoted ten or more years of their careers to the organization and the people we support. This year, more than 165 employees will be participating in the luncheon. Two of those staff members are celebrating their 25th anniversaries with Springbrook—Teri Wells and Susan Phillippe.

Teri Wells is currently the Administrative Assistant for Springbrook’s Facilities Department, but she began working with students at The School at Springbrook and has served in many other capacities throughout the organization over the years. In her spare time, she enjoys working in her flower gardens and is well known for her passion and dedication to the people she cares about, as well as the individuals receiving services at Springbrook.

Susan Phillippe is a Special Education Teacher at The School at Springbrook. She started working at The School at Springbrook at sixteen-years-old. She loved working with special needs children so much that she decided to make a career out of it. A selfless and supportive educator, Susan enjoys celebrating her students’ accomplishments as she teaches them to overcome obstacles and challenges. She also finds great satisfaction in showing helping new employees learn how to work with people with developmental disabilities.

Hundreds of Springbrook staff members have much to be proud of as they have proven their commitment to supporting people with developmental disabilities. As Susan put it: “Every person in this organization is here to do a job that either directly or indirectly makes an impact on the lives of the people we support.” Thank you to all who have made the decision to be a part of that support and thanks to Teri and Susan for their long careers at Springbrook!
