Policy Reminder July 2018 - Dress Code

Appropriate attire may vary from job to job but at all times must project a positive image to the community, our residents, and students. All Springbrook personnel should dress in a manner appropriate to their professional responsibilities and should exemplify and reinforce acceptable dress for the children, adults, and families we serve.

 All employees’ dress, grooming, and appearance shall:

1. Be safe, appropriate, and not interfere with or disrupt the workplace, ensuring that all items of clothing (including hats, as permitted) are clean and free of rips, tears, burns, or any other defect that would make the item objectionable.

2. Recognize that extremely brief garments such as very short shorts or skirts, tube tops, muscle shirts, net tops, halter tops, spaghetti straps, plunging necklines (front or back), and sheer garments are not appropriate.

3. Ensure that underwear is completely covered by outer clothing.

4. Allow the wearing of hats, although any hat worn by a Springbrook employee:

a. Must be worn in such a manner that it does not interfere with an employee’s ability to make eye contact with co-workers or consumers.

b. May not be worn in the school building under any circumstances unless expressly permitted through the designation of an official hat day or as part of a required Springbrook uniform.

c. May not be worn while attending any medical or professional appointment.

d. May not be worn by employees at the consumers’ dining table during any meal or snack time. This includes all food-related outings.

e. May not be worn during training events or conferences.
