HELP Committee Update

Springbrook created the  HELP Committee with the understanding that sometimes people need a little assistance. This group has been a longstanding part of Springbrook that allows employees to go above and beyond to support the individuals they work with.

Each year, Springbrook designates a portion of Annual Fund contributions to the HELP Committee. This committee is made up of staff members who consider requests for financial assistance from individuals who receive Springbrook services and have a specific need that is not met through personal or other available resources. They grant modest requests averaging about $100 upon verification of the need.

Some examples of recent awards include back-to-school clothing, Christmas gifts, individual activities (such as YMCA swimming lessons), and equipment (e.g., a bicycle). The HELP Committee assists over 100 individuals and their families annually.

Any Springbrook participant is eligible for funds through the HELP Committee. Participants who only receive Care Coordination through Southern Tier Connect and do not receive any services through Springbrook are ineligible.

Funds for Christmas items must be in by Wednesday, December 5 for the committee to have enough time to process requests and issue payments.
