Special Olympics at Springbrook

Congratulations to the Springbrook Scorpions varsity basketball team for winning the Gold Medal at the Special Olympics State Competition in June! 

Team member Jennifer wrote the following about the experience:

“Well let me tell you, winning is like a special time. ..
a time where people celebrate the courage…the friendship… the possibilities of working together. 
The Springbrook Scorpions are the best basketball team ever!  They give team work, courage, friendship and trust.  When we went to the States we were nervous because we never won the gold.  After we won, we felt so tickled pink.  All we had to do was believe that we can win.  I always say never give up and keep your eye on the game…and that’s the way we work.  We work hard and we play fair – that’s our motto.”
